2016 has brought with it a whirlwind of change in the property world, from the rise in stamp duty tax, the amendment to the income tax legislation and, of course, Brexit.

One thing that remains unchanged, however, is the popularity of property auctions.

At last week’s auction, the Austin Gray auction team raised the highest total that we’ve seen in our history. That total came in at a sum of £6,019,500 in property sales, at a 90% success rate. That’s not just the highest sales total in Austin Gray history, though, our total is also the highest property sales total recorded in Brighton in nearly 10 years.

As a transparent, flexible and fast alternative to traditional modes of selling, property auctions have attracted the attention of a diverse set of buyers and sellers including buy-to-let landlords, developers, investors and private buyers. Combined with our expert auction team, our stellar success comes as no great surprise.

Incredibly, we’ve also smashed our yearly record and that’s before we’ve even had the last auction of 2016. So far we’ve raised just under £20 million, and we’ve still got one more property auction coming up in December. We’ve sailed past out our past record of £17 million, to give you a small idea of just how successful this year has been.

With so much success under our belts, we’re ready to take on 2017 and provide even better results for us and for our clients. Want to be part of the excitement of an Austin Gray property auction? Our final auction of 2016 takes place on 8th December and promises to round off an incredible year for Austin Gray. We’re currently taking entries for our final auction; entries close on 9th November.
