The market has recently been impacted by the passing of the LAFRA  Act (2024) which although passed has not been implemented. A recent Judicial Review was heard in July 2025 where Freeholders challenged The Government on the substantial financial losses they will incur as a result of the Act coming into force.They lost their challenge. However an Appeal has now been lodged – in the meantime the Government will press on with their intentions with a Consultation on prescribed market rates announced in September 2025. This uncertainty has caused a reduction in values. However there are still buyers for these.
