There are many circumstances which may require you to have a Red Book Valuation. Usually this will be for tax purposes or legal proceedings, such as for inheritance tax or a matrimonial dispute. These valuations are undertaken by members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors who follow strict guidelines set out in the RICS – Valuation Global Standards and (where applicable) the UK National Supplement. Together, these are known as the “Red Book”. Many of the valuations we provide will be in accordance with the Red Book.
